Moa Carlsson is a PhD Candidate in Architecture (Minor in STS) at MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology, researching the intellectual history of computer-aided landscape design. Her work focuses on histories and practices of computation, systems thinking, and terrain analysis in military operational research, landscape architecture and environmental planning. Previously, she worked at a number of renowned design offices in the UK, US, Austria and Sweden. Moa has a Professional Degree in Architecture from Lund University, Sweden, and received a Master of Science in Design and Computation from MIT in 2013. During the 2016/17 academic year she was a Visiting Doctoral Student at the University of Cambridge, Department of History and Philosophy of Science.
