Maj Plemenitas is an inventor, researcher and academic. He is the Director of Cross Scale Design – CSD Research at UCL Bartlett School of Architecture, a co-founder of AMPHIBIOUS Lab and the founding Director of LINKSCALE, the international award-winning research organization focused on cross-scale design and multi-scale strategies, systems and structures in architectural, urban and landscape contexts. For his innovative work and original research Plemenitas has received a range of awards and grants, including the inaugural Sir Peter Cook Award, Innovation in Construction Award and the Holcim Prize for Sustainable Construction. Plemenitas has lectured and worked as a critic at several leading global institutions including the Center for Architecture NYC and AIA NY, Harvard GSD, Architectural Association, KTH as well as in numerous leading peer-reviewed conferences in Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. He exhibits internationally at venues including the Royal Academy of Arts, Venice Biennale and London Architecture Festival. Plemenitas is a prolific writer and regularly publishes documents and peer-reviewed papers on the role of Computation, Cross-scale and Multi-objective design as well as on AI, ML, and DL in pelagic, amphibious, landscape, urban and architectural contexts.
